Marie Heiman, age 88 6T Alcester, died Sunday, July 11, at the Hawarden Community -Hospital.
Services were held Friday, July 16, at Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.

Marie Tracy Johanna Heiman was born June 21, 1905, in Sioux County, to parents Ernest and Louise (Lemeke) Busch. She attended Sioux County country schools and Hawarden high School. She married Earl Heiman on November 26, 1924, at the Peace Lutheran Church near Alcester. The couple farmed in the Alcester area. They moved into town in the mid 1950's. Earl died on September 20, 1982. Marie was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. She has been a member of the Peace Lutheran Church since 1924. She had been active in the Ladies Aid and the choir there. Marie was also a member of the Green Thumb Club and had been active with the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Scott; two granddaughters, Marlys and Marlene; and one brother, Harry.

Survivors include three sons, Burdette and his wife Margaret, Vergene and his wife Corinne, all of Alcester and Quinten of Vivian, SD; one daughter, Beverly and her husband Daryl Fickbohm of Alcester; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandehildren; one brother, Lawrence Busch and his wife Caroline of Lakewood, CA; and two sisters, Anna Lundgren of Wetminster, CA and Mabel Voliva of Gilmer, TX.
