Grace Bos, age 87 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Hawarden, died Sunday, June 27, 1993, at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor, Sioux Falls A private family funeral service was held Saturday, July 3, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden Burial as at the Grace Hill Cemetery Hawarden. Rev. Marvin Vander Vliet officiated.

Grace was born February 13 1906 at Engelum, the Netherlands, daughter of Ralph and Jennie Boomsma Schotanus. She came to the United States to the Hawarden area when she was seven-years-old. Grace married John Bos on January 29, 1926 at Hawarden. Together they farmed in the Hawarden area. John died January 16, 1964. Surviving relatives include seven sons, Richard of Artesia CA, Ralph and Wilbur of Hawarden, Henry of Aberdeen SD, Clarence of Renner, SD, John and Andrew of Yankton SD; two daughters, Elsie Waterbury of Minneapolis MN and Mrs. Adrian Jeanette Van Liere of Dell Rapids SD; 32 grandchildren; 45 great grand children; two great great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Margaret Warns; son, Charies Bos; and infant brother; and two brothers, John and Wilber.
