Dick Brandsma Funeral Rites Today

Dick Brandsma, a long time resident of Rock Valley passed away Monday evening in the Sioux Center hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Methodist church with Rev. M. L. Jones officiating. Interment will be made at the Valley View cemetery.
Dick Brandsma was born Oct. 6, 1868 in the Netherlands. When a young man, he came to the United States and settled around Doon and Rock Valley and lived in this area all his life.

He leaves to mourn a brother; Gabe Brandsma, of Breda, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be Abe Brandsma of Canton, George Brandsma of Hawarden, Bert Ver Wey of Inwood, Dick Vander Woude of Sanborn, Richard Vander Woude of Okoboji, and Jake Peelen of Sanborn. Funeral arrangements are under Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.
