Fred Bauder Long Time Councilman Succumbed Tues.
Fred Bauder, who had been ill in the Sacred Heart hospital at Le Mars, passed away Tuesday morning, Mr. Bauder was a resident of Rock Valley for many years and served on the council for many years and was park commissioner and was active in sports.
Funeral will be Friday at the Bill Serck home and at 1:15 p.m. and at Peace Lutheran Church at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Rebelein officiating. Interment will be at the Lutheran cemetery. Vander Ploeg Funeral home of Sheldon is in charge of the arrangements.

=======================Fred Bauder was born in Elgin, la., on May 23, 1882, and passed away in a Le Mars hospital on March 11, 1953 following an operation.
In 1890 he moved with his parents to a farm in Garfield township, where he lived until 1919. During this time he worked for two years in a harness shop in Hudson, S. D. In 1913 he moved to Rock Valley with his aged parents, and has resided in Rock Valley ever since. He served on the town council for a number of years and also served as clerk and school secretary in Garfield township.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fred A. Miller and Mrs. Ida Miller of Rock Valley, and one brother, George of Long Beach, Calif. also many relatives and friends.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a baptised and confirmed member of Peace Lutheran church and was a faithful member to his death.Pallbearers were John Miller, Donald Miller, Alvin Miller, Harold Miller, Raymond Miller and Arthur Bauder.
