Hold Last Rites For Klaas De Boer Here On Monday

Funeral services for Klaas DeBoer, 73, were held on Monday March 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the home and 1:30 p.m.at the Methodist church, with Rev. H. C. Van Deelen officiating. Burial was made at the Inwood cemetery. Mr. De Boer died at his farn home southwest of Rock Valley Tuesday afternoon, March 20 following a heart attack. He had farmed in this vicinity since 1909. Klaas.De Boer was born in Friesland, Netherlands, on January 14, 1878, and came to America in 1899. In 1909 he returned to the Netherlands and was united in marriage to Agnes Vander Werf. They returned to America that same year.

Survivors include Mrs. De Boer, two daughters, Hattie (Mrs. John Meerbeek) and Elizabeth (Mrs. Albertus Van Beek) and a son, Frank, at home He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, two brothers John G. of Rock Valley and Frank of the Netherlands, and two sisters, Effie and Jennie; both in the Netherlands. Mr. De Boer was preceded in death by five children: two daughters, who died in infancy and three sons, Gilbert, in 1933, Gerrit, in 1937; and John in 1940.
Pallbearers were Ray Boer ,Walter Moore, Jake Baartman, Leo Grossenburg, Evert Davelaar, and Henry Oakland.
