Jean Abbott DeYoung Schiable, 73, of North Long Beach, CA, passed away September 14, from a massive heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Paramount Clock Chapel, in Paramount,
CA, on Tuesday, September 19, 1898. The Rev. Tom Hughes officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, at Brea, C A.

Jean Abbott was born on November 2, 1915, at Lincoln, NE, to Jessie and Gary Abbott. The family moved to Hawarden when she was a small child; she attended the Hawarden Schools and as a young girl, she married Rudy DeYoung, They lived in Hawarden and Minnesota before moving to California. To this union, nine children were born. Mr. DeYoung passed away on May 17,1971. On July 4, 1985, she married Leonard Schiable, in Long Beach, CA. He passed away on May 18,1988.

Survivors include three sons, Sidney, Richard and Jim DeYoung, all of Long Beach, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Joan) Acosta, of Puyallup, WA, Mrs. Norman (Jeannie) Richardson, of Yakima, WA, and Mrs. Rudy (Affie Lee) Beuchler, of Downey, CA; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, LaVeta Vande Hoef, of Garden Grove, CA, and Lillian Blomberg, of Akron, two brothers, Lloyd and George Abbott, both of Hawarden. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and one sister.
