Eberhard Eiben Iken, 86, of Hayward, CA, died unexpectedly, Thursday, March 30,1989 at his home.
Memorial services were held Tuesday morning, April 4, at the Chapel Of The Chimes Mortuary, Hayward, CA, with Internment at Chapel Of The Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward, CA.

Mr. Iken was bom December 1,1902, in Utwerdum, Germany, the son of Eibe Neelen Iken and Johanna Katharina Lucht Iken. He married Esther Marie Schulz on February 22, 1934 at Elk Point, SD. They farmed in the Hawarden area until November, 1963 when they retired to Hayward, CA. She died
November 16,1975.

He is survived by seven children, Dorothy (Mrs. Donald) Van Wyhe, of Ireton, .Harvey Iken, ofWiston, CA, Helen Gilliam, of Richwood, OH, Edward Iken, of Salk Rapids, MN, Mildred (Mrs. John) Watkins, of Suison City, CA, Raymond Iken, of Chesaning, MI, and Mclvin Iken, of Union City, CA; two brothers, Neal Iken and Okke Iken, both of Lennox, SD; three sisters, Margaret Iken, of Lennox, SD, Rika Weigand, of Cranford, NJ, and Martha (Mrs. Kasper) Hagel of Fairlawn, NJ; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, his parents, a baby sister and two
grandchildren.
