Clara Sinkey, 81, of Ireton, died Thursday, October 6, 1988, in a Sioux City hospital.
Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 1988 in the Christian Reformed Church in Ireton with the Rev. Wybren Oord officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. Casket bearers were: John Van Beek, Fred Ten Napel, John Van Engen, Gerrit Fedders, Stanley Vanden Berg and Alfred De Jong.

Mrs. Sinkey, the former Clara Schaap, was born July 21, 1907, in Leota, MN. She married Frank Sinkey, January 3, 1935, at Leota. The couple farmed near Lismore, MN, before moving to a farm near Ireton. They retired in 1973 and moved into Ireton. Mr. Sinkey died July 11, 1986. Mrs. Sinkey was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, of Ireton.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Zwart of Hawarden and Mrs. Clyde (Myrtle) Smits of LaPalma, CA; two sons, Vernon of Springfield, MO, and Roger of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; two brothers, William and Henry Schaap, both of Edgerton, MN; two sisters, Mrs. Simon (Anne) Sas of Edgerton and Miss Marie Schaap of Silver Springs, MD.
