Inez Skatrud - Monday afternoon, October 24, funeral services were held for Inez
Skatrud, of Cambridge, formerly of Braham. The services were held at 2 p.m. from the Braham Ev. Covenant Church, with Rev. Daniel Brodin officiating. The music was furnished by organist, Ruth Anderson and members from the String Band, Alvera Peterson, Laveda Peterson, Phyllis Johnson, Myra Leaf, Laura Peterson and Ethel Sundermeyer. The interment was at the Grasston Union Cemetery.

Inez S. Skatrud, daughter of John and Mabel Hodgson was born on November 4,1915 at Hawarden, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. On December 31, 1940, she was united in marriage to Leonard J. Skatrud at Hawarden. They first lived in Hawarden, then moved to Elgin, IL for four years. They also lived in Alcester, SD and in 1957 moved to Cambridge. In 1971, they moved to rural Braham, where they lived until Leonard passed away on September 9, 1979. Inez continued to live in Braham until 1983, when site moved to Pine Village, in Cambridge.

Her health had been failing for the past year and she passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Cambridge on Friday, October 21,1988, at 72 years of age, 11 months and 17 days.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Borchardt (Lana) of Baline, Mrs. Roy Asperheim (Rhoda) of Coon Rapids, Rebecca Skatrud of Braham and Mrs. Michael McLean (Mary) of St. Paul; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers, Raymond of Texas, Guy Hodgson of California, Roger Hodgson of Iowa and Glen Hodgson of California; three sisters, Mrs. Harold Roberts (Blanche) of Washington, Mrs. Hden Elving of Iowa and Mrs. Wayne Snyder (Maybelle) of Arizona; several nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leonard. Inez was a member of the Braham Ev. Covenant Church at the time of her death.
