Claire L. Moen, 67, a Hawarden resident, died suddenly On February 4, 1989 at Me Allen, TX. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 1989 at the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Jalmer Eldal officiating with burial in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday with the family present from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

He was born on July 22, 1921 near Canton, SD. He made his home in the Canton area where he farmed and did custom trucking for many years. He served with the US Army during World War II. He was also employed as a Insurance representative for fifteen years. For the past ten years he was employed by the Heyl Truck Lines in Akron before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Canton VFW Club and member of, the Hawarden Eagles and the American Legion.

He was united in marriage to Mildred Dykstra on September 2, 1977 at Canton, SD. He is survived by his wife Mildred; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Jewell, of Coolridge, AZ; two sons, Clarie Jr., of Sioux Falls, SD and Gayle, of Bridgewater, SD; one sister, Mrs. Leonard (Dorene) Rollag, of Beaver Creek, MN; one brother, Gary, of Canton SD; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; five step-daughters, Monica Heuer, of Hawarden, Mary Frey, of Beloit; WI, Alice Lenzen, of St. Charles, IL; JoAnn Schreiber, of Cathedral City, CA; and Linda Doty, of Hawarden; three stepsons, John Dykstra,
stationed in Japan; Dennis Dykstra, of Madison, NE and Mark Dykstra, of Glenwood; 16 step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren
