Hold Last Rites For M S. Huie Here on Tuesday

Rev M. L Jones officiated the last rites for Marshall Scott Huie on Tuesday, August 29, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church.
Mr. Huie died. in Sioux City, Sunday, after an illness of several months. Mr. Huie was born on December 6, 1871, at Nashua, Iowa. He attended school in Charles City and graduated in 1897 from Upper Iowa university in Fayette. In 1899 he married the former Jessie Hickox, who died in February.

He came to Rock Valley in 1901 as superintendent of schools. In 1903 he entered business, operating a furniture and undertaking establishment. He sold this business in 1921 and became manager of the Community Oil company. He retired in 1941. Mr. Huie was active in civic affairs and was a past master of the Masonic lodge. He is survived by one son, Robert J, of Sioux City, and a sister in California.

Pallbearers were Glenn Benson, W. B. Hansen, Stanley McKeegan, John Smits, Martin Bonthuis and Hessel Roorda, Sr. Those coming from out of town for the services included O. W Schmidt, A. J. Glower, Orville Slohns, Jeanette Ericson, E.J. Evans and R.H. Hies ???
