David E. Blomberg, 82, of Akron, Iowa died suddenly, Sunday, March 10, 1985 in the Akron City Hospital, Akron, Iowa, after a long illness.

David was born May 31, 1902 to John Edward and Cora Etta (Anderton) Blomberg in Union County, South Dakota. He married Mary Jane White November 26, 1943, in Elk Point, South Dakota. Three daughters were born to this union. Corrine Grace Blomberg Maske, 6/9/1948, Wanda Sue Blomberg Vanderham, 3/30/1955 and Connie Ilene Blomberg Anderson Hieb, 10/17/1958. David farmed on an 80 acre farm 1 mile straight East of Alcester, South Dakota until 1949, he sold that property to move to his mother's farm Northwest of Akron, Iowa. After a divorce he married Lillian Cora Abbott Swanson May 2, 1971, in Hawarden, Iowa. He farmed on the 120 acre farm until 1976 when he retired and moved to Alcester, South Dakota, for 6 months and then moved to Akron, Iowa, where he lived until his death. He was a life long member of Big Springs Baptist Church of rural Alcester, South Dakota.

Survivors include: his x-wife, Mary Jane Beeck, his wife Lillian Abbott Swansen Blomberg, three daughters: Mrs. Donald (Corrine) Maske of Hartford South Dakota, Mrs. Daniel (Wanda) Vanderham of Akron Iowa, Ms. Connie Anderson of Hawarden, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Heather and David Maske, Shannun, Ryan and Dustin Vanderham, Jeramie and Tandy Anderson.

He was precede in death by his parents (John and Cora), his step-father (Clarence Waterbury), his sister(Viola Omilia Blomberg Joustra), his half brother(Vernon Woodrow Waterbury) and his foster brother (Leland Joseph Blomberg).
