From the Hawarden Independent, March 5, 1914 :

Mrs. Guy Orton died at her home at Pipestone, Minn., last Saturday following an attack of paralysis on the Tuesday previous. The body was brought to Ireton Monday and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Orton. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Creswell officiating. Besides a number of relatives from a distance, a large delegation of old friends from Maurice came to attend the funeral.

Anna Belle Suter was born in Baltimore, Md., Feb.2, 1853. She moved to Chicago with her parents in 1868, where she was married to Guy Orton Dec. 8, 1871. Four children were born to them, One died in infancy and Harry died two years go. The children living are Martin W. Orton and Miss Carrie Orton. She is survived by her husband and also by her aged father, Captain Martin Suter, who is now in his 93rd year. She also has two sisters and four brothers living.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Orton resided a few years in Illinois and came to LeMars in 1885. They remained there two years and then moved to Maurice where they made their home for twenty-three years. Four years ago they moved to Pipestone, Minn. Among the relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Suter of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Suter of Rock Valley; Mrs. Adelbert Stebbens of Freeport, Ill.; Mrs. W. A. Wakefield and son Herbert of Maurice.

From the LeMars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, March 10, 1914: Maurice news:

Mrs. G. W. Orton, a former Maurice resident, died at her home near Pipestone, Minn., last Saturday, February 28. She suffered a paralytic stroke on Tuesday and expired the following Saturday.

The maiden name of the deceased was Anna Suter. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1852, and moved with her parents to Chicago where she was united in marriage to G. W. Orton. From there she and her husband moved to Freeport, Ill., and in 1884 they moved to LeMars, Iowa. After a residence there of two years they moved to Maurice where they resided until 1910 when they moved on their farm near Pipestone, Minn.

The deceased leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one son, Martin, and a daughter, Carrie, both of Maurice, her aged father, Captain Suter, of Ireton, two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Mallonee of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mrs. Ed. Orton, of Ireton, four brothers, Wm. Suter of Malta, Montana, Rufus, of Baltimore, Maryland, Emery, of Rock Valley, and John, of Chicago, and five little grandchildren. The remains were shipped to Ireton where funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church and she was laid to rest beside her son, Harry, who preceded her to the Great Beyond two years ago.
