Hold Last Rites At Carmel For Gerrit G. Kuyper

Last rites for Gerrit G. Kuyper of Carmel will be held tomorrow (Friday). Rev. H. Harmelink will officiate at the services at 1 o'clock at the home and 1:30. p.m. at the Carmel church. Burial will be made in the Carmel cemetery.Mr. Kuyper submitted to an appendectomy last Wednesday. Sunday evening he became seriously ill and died at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Kuyper, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Kuyper, was born in Carmel in 1897. He went to school in Carmel and has farmed there all his life. In February, 1920, he was united in marriage to Marie Hulshof of Rock Valley. To this union were born five daughters and one son. All survive him except one daughter, who died in infancy.

His parents and one Jennie (Mrs. Ralph Barteis) preceded him in death. Four brothers, John of Albert Lea, Minn., Walt of Inwood, Gys of Rock Valley, Marion of Sioux Center, and four sisters, Nettie (Mrs. D. Den Hartog) of Sioux Center, Nell (Mrs. Nehnoth) of Sheldon, Arvey (Mrs. B. Wolfswinkle) of Wydmere, N. D., and Evelyn (Mrs. E. Gaarmeester) of Rock Rapids, are left to mourn his passing.
