Etta E. Sorgdrager, 97, of Craig, died Saturday, April 16,1988, in a nursing home in Le Mars.
Services were held Tuesday, April 19, in First United Methodist Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Le Mars.

Mrs. Sorgdrager, the former Etta E. Van Steenwyk, was born July 11,1890, in Orange City to Arnold Van Steenwyk and Ella (Verhoef) Van Steenwyk. She married James Sorgdrager Sept. 29, 1914, at Ponca, NE. The couple farmed in Plymouth County until their retirement. He died in 1956.
Mrs. Sorgdrager was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Warren, of Ireton, James, of Sioux City, and Earl, of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Charlotte) De Young, of Craig; 19 grandchildren and 45 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth; two sisters and five brothers.
