Russell DeVos, 61, of Ireton died Thursday, February 4, 1988 in a hospital in Hawarden after a long illness. Services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 8, 1988 in United Methodist Church in Ireton with the Rev. Paul Hansen officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton.

Mr. DeVos was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Ireton. He married Faye Dougherty Feb. 28, 1948, in Sheldon. He was employed at Jack's Feed Co. for 22 years and also owned and operated Russ's Upholstery in Ireton until poor health forced his retirement in,1984. Mr. DeVos was a member of United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Rod (Vicki) Hodgson of Ireton; a son, Russell Douglas of Sioux City; two brothers, William of Heber Springs, AR, and Edwin of Homer, NE, and four granddaughters.
