Richard "Dick" Jager
Richard H. Jager, 87, of Piqua, OH, died at 10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 1988, at his residence. He was born in Maurice, February 20, 1900, a son of the late Hein and Jessie Talsma Jager. A Piqua resident since 1963, he was married to the former Emma L. Kieval. She died Dec. 24, 1976. Mr. Jager attended the Piqua Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Piqua SCOPE. He retired in 1968 as an assembler from Copeland Corporation, Sidney, where he was employed for 10 years He then was a janitor at the Piqua YMCA, retiring in 1975 after four years.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John Miniets (Jessie), Hawarden; Mrs. Esther Newberg, Piqua, and Mrs. Clause Browning (Loretta), Sidney; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;- and a sister, Mrs. Jessie McPherson, Hawarden. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

Services were 2 p.m. Monday, February 22, 1988 at the Melcher- Sowers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lincoln Robinson officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
