Rites At Sioux Falls Friday P.M.

Funeral services for Mrs. E. M.Everhart will be held at the Miller funeral home in Sioux Falls
at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, it was announced Wednesday, by friends of the deceased. Rev. M. L. Jones will officiate at the service.
Burial will be made at the cemetery in Hartford, S. D.

Mrs. Everhart died at the Sioux Valley hospital, Sioux Falls, at 1 p.m. Tuesday. She had developed a brain tumor and became seriously ill some 10 days ago.
Little hope had been given for her recovery the first of the week.

Mrs. E. M. Everhart died on Friday, May 5, at the Miller funeral home
in Sioux Falls. She became ill on April 20, and was taken to the
Sioux Valley hospital on April 17, where she died on May 2.
Burial was made in the family plot at Hartford, S. D. Rev. M. L.
Tones officiated at the services and Ray Woolridge, J. P. Schutt,
and John Meylink, along with three men from Hartford, S. D.,
were pall bearers.

Mrs. Everhart was born Frances Laughran Wintersteen, on
January 30, 1880, in Marshall county, Iowa. Her early childhood
was spent in Hawarden and it was there she attended normal
school.

She was married to Edgar M. Everhart in 1900 and together,
they attended Morningside college in Sioux City, where Mrs.
Everhart enrolled in the conservatory. Later they resided at Tyndall
and Wessington Springs, and Parker and Hartford, S. D.,
where Mr. Everhart was music instructor in the public school.
They retired to their farm near Salix, Iowa, until Mr. Everhart
was called to Rock Valley to resume his career as music instructor
here. He died in 1947, and Mrs. Everhart continued to
reside in Rock Valley, endearing herself to all who knew her by
her kind and unselfish and pleasing personality.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. E. R. Veall
James McCarthy of Oakland, Calif., one brother, E.
J. Wintersteen of Sioux Falls, S.D., and a number of nieces and a host of friends.
