Funeral services for Mrs. H.L. (Lavinia) Dunham, 87, former Hawarden resident who died April 4, at Anchor Hospital in St. Paul, were held in the Kenneth Spielman mortuary. Burial was in Elmhurst Cemetery there. Rebekah Lodge rites were held at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dunham had been residing in the Capital View Nursing Home at St. Paul and suffered a heart attack after which she was removed to a hospital.

Lavinia Murdock was born and raised on a farm near Elk Point, South Dakota. At the age of 25, she married Homer L. Dunham of Hawarden, who had a small farm at Elk Point. They later sold the farm and moved to a homestead near Hawarden in 1904.

Mrs. Dunham joined the June Rebekah Lodge here in 1909. Her membership was later reinstated and transferred to Ivy Rebekah Lodge in Minneapolis in 1963.

She moved to St. Paul in 1938 and had been a widow for 25 years.

Survivors are two sons, Clarence H. Dunham of St. Paul and Elmer Dunham of Oakland, California; a daughter, Mrs. Lily Fogleson of Anisa, California; six grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren.
