Ruth Jean Wright, 64, of Ames, died July 5, 1987, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at The Adams Funeral Home, Ames, with Rev. John Hamilton officiating.

Mrs. Wright was born April 7, 1923 at Wakeeney, KS. She came to Ames in 1967 from Hawarden. She was educated at Trego County, KS, High School; attended Kansas State College, Hays, KS; Kansas City Art Institute; Morningside College, Sioux City. She was a veteran of Women's Branch, U.S. Marine Corps, World War II.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Wright, whom she married March 9, 1946, at Hawarden; a son, David R. Wright of Lexington, NE; and two daughters, Donna Rae Schouweiler of Bismarck, ND, and Margaret (Peggy) Davis of Ames; and one granddaughter, Samantha Davis, of Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Neva (Hart) Trudgeon.
