Alfred L. Pulscher, 61, of Beresford, and formerly of Hawarden, died Wednesday, June 10,1987, at a Sioux Falls hospital following a long illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Rev. Jalmer Eldal officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden with military graveside services conducted by the Hawarden American Legion Post.
Mr. Pulscher was born May 12, 1926, in Freeman, SD. He moved to Hawarden in 1939. He was a veteran of World War II and was stationed in the Phillipines and Japan. He married Eunice Peck on April 14, 1949, at Hawarden. She died April 18,1986. He worked for the Chevrolet garage and a body shop in Hawarden. From 1953- 1980 he worked for Coilcraft/Otis Division. He moved to Beresford in 1976 where he owned and operated the Starlight Motel. Since March of 1987, he had been a resident of Covington Heights Nursing Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Sonja, of Hawarden; a son, Alan, of Sioux Falls; a sister, Phyllis, of Hawarden; and six brothers, Harold of Denver, CO, Herbert of Sioux City, Clarence of Le Mars, Merlin of Alcester, Francis of Sheldon and Gilbert of Knoxville. Pallbearers were Harold Pulscher, Bill Watkins, Charles Kopp, Alfred De Raad, Brad Tefft and Gerald Schiefen.
