Funeral services for. Henry M. Vugteveen, 48, were held Monday,at the home at 1:30 and the
Christian Reformed church at 2 o'clock. Dr. H. Kuiper officiated at the services. Burial was made at the Valley View cemetery. Mr.Vugteveen died last Thursday afternoon, March 2, at his home in Rock Valley.
Henry Vugteveen was a resident of the Rock Valley area for a period of 48 years. He was
born in South Dakota, on March 23, 1901. He moved to Rock Valley when still a small child. He was married to Lena Vanden Bosch in 1932 and to this union five children were born. They
farmed in this area for 16 years.
He discontinued farming in 1948 on account of poor health and moved to Rock Valley.
He leaves to mourn, his wife,and five children: Marvin 16,Lloyd 13, Revina 10, Burdetta 8
and Henry Lee 2 years old.
Also surviving are three brothers, Case of Rock Valley, Peter of Canton and Leen of Valley
Springs, S. D., and three sisters, Mrs. W. C. Kooiman, Rock Valley; Mrs. Nick Ver Mulm, Artesia, Calif.; and Martha Vugteveen, Artesia, Calif.
One brother, William, preceded him in death a year ago.
Pallbearers were J. J. Van Otterloo, Lewis Kooi, Herman Kempema, John Bolkema, Martin
