^Funeral services were held' for
John Bunning on Wednesday March 8
at 1:30 in the afternoon, with
Rev. M. L. Jones offciating
Mr. Bunning passed away at
the age of 83 years in the Sioux
Valley hospital in Sioux Falls,
Sunday, March 5. He had been
suffering from a heart ailment for
some time. This condition, complicated
by hemorrhages, was the cause of death.
Mr. Bunning was born in the
Netherlands on January 24, 1867,
At the age of 21 he came to this
country and was engaged in
farming in Sioux county until his
retirement seven years ago. He
has lived in Rock Valley since
that time.
In 1930 he married Anna (Kemper),
who died 24 years ago. Four
daughters and one son were
born. Two daughters and the
son preceded him in death.
Interment was made in the Valley View Cemetery.
