Died: October 22, 1966Stanley B. Lawton, 69, a former resident of Hawarden, died October 22 at a hospital in Fullerton, California, after a lengthy illness. He was a son of Byron and Alice Lawton, born on their family farm June 15, 1897. He attended the Hawarden schools and married Bernadine Rouwen April 29, 1920. Three children were born.
He farmed in the Hawarden community until 1942 when the family moved to Bellflower, California, where he resided until his death. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at the Douglas Plant until his retirement in 1962.
His father, mother and brother Floyd preceded him in death. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Dr. Thomas and Phillip of La Habra, California, and Dr. Joseph of Fullerton; two sisters, Maude Cooper of Long Beach and Mrs. Olive Lean of Bellflower, and 10 grandchildren.
Rosary and Requiem High Mass were said at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with interment following in All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.
