Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd Strong, 56, who died Friday at her home in Hawarden following a lingering illness, were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Dr. Franklin Morse officiating. Interment was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home.

James Squier was the soloist with Mrs. Pete Sinkey at the organ. Casket bearers were Donald Nelson, Jerry Nelson, Dan Nelson, Carl Edman, Clayton Edman and Rodney Schemp.

Hile Dorothy Nelson was born May 19, 1909, at Stratford, Iowa. She later moved to Beresford, South Dakota, with her family. She married Floyd Strong May 19, 1927, at Canton, South Dakota and they have resided in Hawarden since 1928.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Goodwill Circle and Maple Leaf grove of the Woodmen Lodge.

Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Walker of Humboldt, Iowa, Mrs. Duane Jurrens of Hawarden and Mrs. Edward Hartman of Alcester; a son, Sgt. Roger Strong with the United States Armed Forces in Germany; three brothers, Evert Nelson, of Vermillion, Vernie Nelson of Portland, Oregon, and Raymond Nelson of Sioux Falls; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Edman of Beresford, and 12 grandchildren.
