Henry Edwards died at his home in Ireton on Thursday July twenty eighth of paralysis. He was born at Redruth, Cornwall England February twenty eighth 1823 arid was therefore eighty seven years and five months old when he died. Mr. Edwards came to the United States in 1838—at the age of fifteen and made his first home in the new world in Mineral Point Wisconsin, Mr. Edward's father worked in the mines in England and followed the same occupation in this country. Young Edwards at the age of fifteen found work in the lead mines of Wisconsin and followed that occupation for about forty years In 1843 he was married to Miss Eleza Jane Parish at Mineral Point Wisconsin and this union was blessed with twelve children.
In 1881 Henry Edwards and his family left Wisconsin and the lead mines and came to Sioux county and settled near Ireton. In 1892. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards retired from the farm and moved into Ireton where they have since lived. The funeral was held on Sunday July thirty first from the Methodist church of Ireton—Rev. E. G. Richards officiating. Interment was made in the Ireton cemetery.
Deceased is survived by his life partner—now eighty four years old-—nine children and fortyone grandchildren. Mr. Edwards was one of Ireton's highly respected citizens. Though eighty seven
years old he was always hale and hearty until about ten days before his death. Grandpa Edwards
will be missed in Ireton.
