According to report by the Sioux County medical examiner, Dr. R.J. Hassebroek, an autopsy performed at Sioux Falls disclosed that the death of Arthur J. Loe, 66, who was found pinned under the wheel of a tractor here Tuesday evening of last week, was termed accidental.

Dr. Hassebroek said death resulted from injuries suffered when the tractor wheel rolled onto his chest, but it was not clear how the accident occurred.

Mr. Loe had been mowing grass on a levy of the flood control channel in the south part of town with a mower attached to a tractor. After he did not report at home that evening city employees searched for him and found him under the rear wheel, the tractor motor still running. The tractor had not overturned. There apparently were no witnesses ro the accident.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday at the Congregational Church in Hudson, Reverend David Graham officiated with burial in Eden Cemetery at Hudson.

Roger Evanson was soloist and Mrs. F.W. Wood was organist. Pallbearers were Delbert Fowies, Harley Marshall, James Sorlie, Morris Christopherson, Lee Keehn and Floyd Twedt.

Mr. Loe was born February 3, 1899, near Beresford, a son of Ole and Sina Loe. On December 17, 1923 he married Evelyn Starr and they farmed in Sioux and Lincoln counties until retiring about a year ago.

He had been employed by the city of Hawarden since May of this year. He and his wife were in the process of moving from the farm into a house they had purchased in Hudson a few days before his death.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Loe, who for many years resided in Hawarden, and one brother, Oscar Loe.

Survivors include the widow, Evelyn; two daughters, Mrs. John (Darlene) Anderberg of Bottineau, N.W., and Mrs. Lowell (Lila) Ludwig of Hudson; two brothers, Ted of Minneapolis and Leo of Walker, Minnesota; seven sisters, Mrs. Clara Anderson, Mrs. Walter (Inanda) Koch and Mrs. Floyd (Alma) Hudson, all of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Charles (Mina) Larson of Vallejo, California, Mrs. Clyde (Palma) McKee, Sr., of Akron, Mrs. Merton (Elinore) Rhodes of Dubuque, and Mrs. Lee (Lillian) Trudeau of Alcester, and nine grandchildren.
