Laura Elizabeth Toft, 104, Jackson, MN died Friday Oct. 9, 2009. A memorial service was held Oct. 13 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Doctor Martin Lucin officiating. Burial took place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Laura Toft was born on June 17, 1905 in Hawarden, the daughter of Carl and Barbara (Trieber) Klumb. As a youth Laura attended Hawarden Public Schools, graduating from Hawarden High School. After high school Laura received her teaching certificate. Laura taught in the area for a few years before marrying Elmer Toft on May 17, 1933 in Hawarden. After married Laura and Elmer moved to Jackson County,m where they rented a few farms, before buying their own farm just north of town. After Elmer's retirement in 1975, they moved into Jackson. Elmer died in Feb. of 1983; after Elmer's passing Laura continued to live at home until she moved to the Pines in 1987. Laura remained at the Pines until April of 2009, when she moved to Jackson Good Samaritan Center.

Laura and Elmer became members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson, shortly after making the move from Hawarden, where she was a member of the Ladies Aide.

Laura is survived by her three children, Daughters, Marge (Gordon) Lundskow of Rochester; Barb (Ken) Johnson of Chaska; son, Robert Toft of Saint Bonifacius; eight grandchildren, James Lundskow of Rochester; Karen Cook of Dallas TX; Mark (Lana) Johnson of Leland, IA; Brian (Carla) Johnson of Jackson; Paul (Stacy) Johnson of Blue Earth; Holly (Greg) Neuman of Jupiter, FL; Erik (Vicki) Toft of Saint Francis and Sarah Toft of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her two brothers Laurence and John Klumb and one sister Clare Pool.
