Funeral services for Mrs. William Pohlen, 82, of Hospers, who died Sunday, were at 10 a.m. Wed. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hospers.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. George Theobald officiated and burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg funeral home of Sioux Center.

Mrs. Pohlen had been hospitalized for the last three years since suffering a stroke.

She was born Nov. 16, 1876 in Le Mars, IA. She was married to Mr. Pohlen Oct. 25, 1898 at Hospers. After living in Hospers for a few years, they moved to Everly, IA, where Mr. Pohlen managed the Slagle Lumber yard for 28 years. They moved back to Hospers ini 1943. Mr. Pohlen died last fall.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anna Neuroth of Beresford, S.D.; six sons, Joe of Alton, IA; Peter of Sheldon, IA; John of Linn Grove, IA; William of Elk Point, S.D.; Mike of Hospers, and Leo of West Allis, WIS.; 24 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.
