Born: 1860
Died: 1928

Ed Whittington departed Wednesday afternoon for Blenheim, Ontario, Canada, where he was summoned by the death of his brother, John Whittington, which occurred there Tuesday evening during a surgical operation. The nature of the operation was not revealed in the telegram which Mr. Whittington received Tuesday night appraising him of his brother’s death although it is surmised that it was for gall stone trouble as it was known that he had been a sufferer from this trouble for several months.

The deceased was nearly 68 years of age and had lived in Canada all his life. He had visited in Hawarden several times, the occasion of his last visit here being at the time of the death of his sister, Mrs. Sarah Finnie, in September, 1926. During his visits here Mr. Whittington made many friends among the people of this community who will learn of his death with sincere regret.

He is survived by his widow, two sisters, Miss Mary Jane Whittington of Hawarden, and Mrs. George Birkenshaw of Rocanville, Saskatchewan, Canada, and two brothers, Ed Whittington of Hawarden, and William Whittington of Blenheim, Canada.

Miss Whittington was unable to go to Canada to attend the funeral.
