Died: April 6, 2006 Sibley, Iowa

Edward John Roghair, 73, Sibley, died Thurs. April 6, at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

Services were Monday April 10, at First Baptist Church in Sibley, with Rev. Tom Voigt officiating.
Burial was at Holman Township cemetery in Sibley, under the direction of Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley.

Edward Roghair, son of Nicholas and Dora (Dirksen) Roghair, was born Oct. 11, 1932 in Ireton, IA. He lived his youth in Alton, where he attended a country school. He received Christ as his Savior at the age of 19. He married Judy Howard of Sibley on Jan. 5, 1956, in Hospers. They celebrated 50 years of marriage Jan. 5, 2006. They lived in Sibley, Sioux Center and Worthington, MN.before returning to Sibley. He was a general laborer all his life. When he was younger he shingled and sided houses in his spare time. He drove truck, worked construction and worked for Supreme Egg Products in Sioux Center since 2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sibley. He loved his family and grandchildren. His family loved and respected him and will always look up to him. They always will remember birthday suppers and Promise Keepers. He enjoyed family reunions, baseball and going out for coffee with the guys. He also was blessed to know his dear friend in Christ, Peter C. Runia for the last 20 years. He never hesitated to say that Peter's unconditional friendship was a special blessing to him.

Survivors include his wife Judy Roghair of Sibley; three children, Jill Renee and David Vander Platts of Ashton, Debra Kim Roghair of Sibley and Julie Teal Roghair of Sibley; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Nicholas Henry Roghair; and three sisters, Hermina Wichers of Alton, Harriet Boone of Hull; and Alvina and Gene Fenske of Knoxville AR.

He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Howard Roghair (10 years old); and two sisters, Catherine Karrssen and Dorothy De Vos .
