Mrs. Carolyn Dorris, nee Carrie Noteboom, died in St. Helens, Ore., June 14 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Dorris grew up in Eagle Township, near Hawarden, the daughter of Case & Anna Noteboom. She attended St. Anthonys School (now St. Mary's) after which she received her B.A. degree from the University of Iowa. She taught school in Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota before her marriage to Albert Dorris in Astoria, Ore., later moving to Scappoose, Ore, where she resided for 45 years.

She took an active part in all civic affairs there. She was a veteran of World War I, having served as a Red Cross nurse in France before going to Oregon. She was a life member of the Eastern Star, having joined when she was 18 years of age; was active in the American Association of University Women in Portland, the Woman's Club of Scappoose and other organizations, including P.T.A. work for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Olsen and Mrs. Carol McClellan, both of Scappoose; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Miss Charlotte Noteboom and Mrs. Etta Barton of Aberdeen, S.D. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery, Scappoose.
