Clarence A. Anderson, 82, of Hawarden, died Sunday, May 17, 1987, at his residence. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, in United Methodist. Church in Hawarden. Rev. Paul Hansen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Pallbearers were Myron Peterson, Virgil Peterson, Richard Weyen, Dallas Crow, Mose Hendricks and Lester Janssen.

Mr. Anderson was born September 6, 1904, in Union County, SD. He married Mabel Smith February 28, 1925, in Kennebec, SD. The couple farmed in Union County until moving to a farm near Beresford, SD, in 1941. They retired in 1956 and moved to Hawarden where he worked as a carpenter. Mr. Anderson was a member of United Methodist Church and a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Leo of Hawarden; a sister, Mamie Swanson of Doylestown, PA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
