George Ball, 85, of Hudson, died Thursday, May 14,1987, in a hospital in Hawarden. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in the Hudson Lutheran Church. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. Burial was in Eden Cemetery under direction of Porter Funeral Home in Hudson.

Mr. Ball was born May 8, 1902, at Woonsocket, SD. He served in the U.S. Army from 1922 until 1923. He married Gertrude Rau February 25, 1929, at Woonsocket. The couple moved to Hudson in 1937 where he owned and operated the Hudson Locker until 1952. She died October 7, 1982. He moved to Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Hudson October 27, 1984. Mr. Ball was a member of the Hudson Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Carl Rau, of Lake Park, and a sister-in- law, Mrs. Esther Meyer, of Anaheim, CA.
