Funeral services were held at the Alton Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 for John M. Pluim, 81, of Alton who died at the Orange City hospital Oct. 26 after a long illness.

Ser+++vices were conducted by Rev. Emery Van Gerpen and burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery.

Mr. Pluim was born at Alton June 12, 1892. He married Tillie Mol at Sioux Center Sept. 14, 1921.
Survivors include the widow; two sons Arthur of Alton and Orville of Luverne, MN; two daughters, Mrs Carl (Alice) Heidebrink of Alton and Mrs. Roger (Jean) Stenstron of Alcester, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Peter of Paramount, CA and Walter of Alton; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude De Vos of Hull.
