Riemer ’Richard’ Terpstra died at the home of P, Meyn near Boyden—presumably from eating spoiled meat—on Sunday June nineteenth. Mr. Terpstra was born in the Netherlands in 1871 and came to the United States in 1893 and made his home near Boyden. He was married to Winnie Jellema of Orange City on November twentieth 1896. His wife died a year later leaving a young baby girl which was taken care of by the grand parents and now survives her father.

The funeral services were conducted from the Christian Reformed church of Orange City and were conducted by Rev. H. Heinen of Hull. Deceased is survived by his daughter Anna and his father G. Terpstra of New Kirk. Also by his brothers Klaas of Minnesota, S. Terpstra of Newkirk and W. Terpstra of Boyden and his sisters Mrs. Kastein, Mrs. B. Wierda, Mrs. T. Brunsting, Mrs. O. De Jong and Mrs. B. Broekbuis.
