The death of Mrs. Fred Worcester, one of the pioneer residents of Sioux county, occurred last Friday morning. She had been suffering for the past six months with a malignant cancer. She was taken to the LeMars hospital early in the winter where the cancer and a part of the jaw bone were removed. She rallied but the cancer broke out anew and a specialist on cancer was called from Des Moines but it was all to no avail. She was a patient sufferer.

Mr. and Mrs. Worcester came to Sioux County and settled on the farm four miles south of Ireton in 1872. There they have resided ever since. They are among the oldest settlers of the county. She was 72 years old and leaves besides her husband several children. The interment was at Ireton
cemetery Sunday afternoon.
