Hawarden Independent February 25, 1937

Death of Former Resident Belated word has been received of the death of H. H. Worcester, a former
resident of this vicinity, who passed away Feb. 4th in a hospital at Chamberlain, S. D. Mr. Worcester was a brother-in-law of Walker, C. S.. Will and Miss Anna Bushby. He spent his boyhood and early manhood on his parents farm, the Fred Worcester place, five miles south of Ireton, which is now owned by B. W. Fritz, on which the residence was destroyed by fire some-time ago. This place has an early history as the parents of Herbert were among the very early settlers here.

He was married to Miss Bushby about 30 years ago and a year or two later they left for that part of South Dakota west of the Missouri river, which was opened for settlement and they have been residents near Winner all the passing years where they lived on a ranch. This union was blessed with eight children, four sons and four daughters, who besides the widow, mourn the loss of husband and father.

H. H. Worcester was born March 9, 1876, and passed away Feb. 4, 1937, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 26 days. He had been in poor health for a long time and was practically an invalid the last year of his life. He was highly respected while a resident of Sioux county and his fine character and pleasing personality won him many friends. Besides his wife and children he is survived by three brothers, Charles, George and Henry Worcester, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Casavant, all living in that part of South Dakota. Interment was made at Winner.
