Mrs. Wilkinson Dies at In California Mrs. Allie Wilkinson, 88, of Long Beach, Calif., who lived in
Hawarden 46 years before going to California in1947,died last Wednesday following a long i11-
ness. Funeral services were held Saturday in Long Beach.

She was born January 14, 1868, at Stafford, Ohio. She was graduated front the Stafford high school after which she took a two year course in the Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls. Later she taught in the public schools at Sioux Center. On July 20, 1892, she was married to W. H. Wilkinson of Hull in the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Grissel at Hull. After her marriage, she lived nine years at Hull and in 1901 Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson came to Hawarden. Mr. Wilkinson then purchased the M. J. Finch hardware business, which he operated 41 years. Mrs. Wilkinson was active in social, civic and church affairs during the early days in Hawarden. She was a member of the Congregational church and took an active part in the various organizations of that church.

She is survived by a son, Zeno, of Long Beach, one sister, Mrs. Adelaide Duncan of Chicago; two grandchildren, Jane and Charles Zeno, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Wilkinson preceded her in death in 1954.
