Fred G. “Fritz” Witt, 64, died Saturday afternoon at a hospital in Englewood, California. He had been ill about 10 months, having suffered a second stroke on February 1.

Mr. Witt was born in Hawarden October 24, 1891, and graduated from high school here in 1913. He married Esther Bechtel in Hawarden on April 17, 1924. For several years he worked as a car salesman in Sioux City and moved out to Englewood about nine years ago.

He is survived by the widow, Esther; one daughter, Shirley, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Heuer and Mrs. Martha Anderson of Hawarden and Mrs. Esther Johnson of Council Bluffs, and one brother, Robert, of Bellflower, California.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and burial was at Englewood.
