Donald B. Witt, 71, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Funeral services was Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, with the Reverend Loren Voglar officiating. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Donald B. Witt was born March 3, 1930, on a farm near Hawarden, to Walter and Leona (Utesch) Witt. He graduated from Hawarden High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1954. He married Margaret Berg on June 15, 1957 in Hawarden. They farmed until 1984. In June of 1986 he suffered a stroke.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Gary of Hawarden and Roger of Warren, Ohio; daughter, Brenda Liffengran of Faribault, Minnesota; four grandchildren; and one sister, Lou Ann Baker of Denver.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
