Hudson Farmer Killed by Train
Eric Benson, one of Hudson’s older bachelors, was killed instantly shortly after noon Saturday when he drove Into the path of an oncoming freight train which he apparently had not seen as he attempted to cross the tracks on the highway at the north edge of Hudson.

Mr. Benson was engaged in farming and resided at the Torkelson hotel in Hudson. He was a cousin of the late Joe Benson of Hawarden. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, afternoon at the Lutheran church in Hudson with burial at Hudson.

Survivors include two brothers and a nephew in Sweden and a niece, Miss Lillian Du Ries of California.
