Leonard James “Jim” Wolf, 77, died Saturday, February 3,, at Marian Health Center in Sioux Center in Sioux City.

Funeral services were at 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 6, at the United Church of Primghar with the Reverend Cindy Morrison officiating. Burial was prior to the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.

Wolf, the son of Edward and Jessie Leonard Wolf, was born January 9, 1919, on the family farm northeast of Hospers. He received his education in Sheldon schools and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1936. He married Melba Johnson on February 28, 1943, in Little Rock. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Primghar until moving into Primghar in February 1967. He was employed by Superior Manufacturing in Spencer until his retirement. He was also employed part time by O’Brien County Soil Conversation Service in Primghar. His wife preceded him in death on April 21, 1993, in Primghar. He remained in Primghar until entering the Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

He was a member of the United Church in Primghar, where he sang in the choir and was active on various committees. He was a past master of Rising Star Masonic Lodge in Ptimghar, past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, member of the Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City and was a volunteer with the Wings of Hope Hospice in Primghar.

Survivors include three sons, Edward and his wife Marylynn Wolf of Midland, Texas, Bob and his wife Karen Wolf of Baltimore, Maryland, and Gordon and his wife Bonnie Wolf of Sioux Center; one daughter, Jan and her husband Dave Winter of Gypsum, Kansas; three sisters, Olive Loafman of Sanborn, Edna Pitts of Winslow, Illinois, and Phyllis and her husband Bob Fort of Claremore, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Kristen, Emilie, Robert, Rebekah, Deborah, Sarah, Zackaria, Elijah and Samuel; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emilie Jane on May 18, 1961, at the age of 16; and his parents.
