Funeral services were held for Mr. Tunis Pietens, 73, of Norwalk, CA. at the Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 1962 with Rev. Wm. Kolenbrander of Middleburg officiating.

Sesrvices were also held Feb. 16, 1962 at the De Jong Funeral Home of Bellflower CA. Burial was held in the Artesia CA, Cemetery.

Mr. Pietens passed away late Sunday evening at the Sioux Center community hospital. He had been making his home at Norwalk, CA, and had come to Sioux Center May 10, 1961, to spend some time with his daughter, Mrs. Ed Mouw.

He had farmed in Sioux County for many years and about 20 years ago moved to CA where he made his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1889 at Hull, Iowa.

He is survived by the following children; Nell (Mrs. Ed Mouw) of Sioux Center, Ella (Mrs. Nick Smits) of Artesia CA. and Elvina (Mrs. Clarence Hibma) of Norwalk, CA.

There are 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, George of Hancock, MN and one sister, Etta (Mrs. Albert Kuiper) of Sanborn, IA.

His wife, Lyda, preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1960 and also three sisters.
