Requiem Mass will be said at final services for Mrs. Mary Kane, 79, who died at the home of her son, Vinton, Monday after an illness of a few days although she had suffered from a heart condition for some time, scheduled for 9 o’clock this morning (Thursday) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father L. Friedman will officiated with burial at Sheldon.

Pall bearers include Jack McManaman, Ray Bockelman, Joe Koob, Alex Doohen, George Sawyer and Cliff Burke.

Rosary was recited at the Barnard Funeral Home at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Kane was born September 10, 1881, at Hull where she attended school and later attended school at Rock Valley. She married Michael F. Kane in Rock Valley January 7, 1902, and they resided in Matlock.

After his death in 1930 the family moved to Hawarden where at that time her son, Keaven, was barbering.

Mrs. Kane was a member of St. Mary’s Guild, the Mothers Club of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Royal Neighbor and Rebekah lodges and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by four sons, Keaven of Los Angeles, Vinton of Hawarden, Verlyn and La Monte, both of Denver; three daughters, Mrs. Lorris Vander Wiel of Sheldon, Mrs. Audrey Miller of Sedalia, Mo., and Mrs. Melba Stickel of Hawarden; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Bickford of Des Moines; 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
