Funeral services were held on Thursday at the First Christian Reformed church for Herman Kluis, 78, who passed away at the Orange City Municipal Hospital April 12, after an illness of nine weeks.

Reverend Martin Hoekman, pastor of the First Reformed Church of Maurice officiated.

Mr. Kluis was born in the Netherlands May 6, 1886, and married Neeltje Oosthoek May 6, 1908. She passed away November 9, 1949.

In August 1954, Mr. Kluis married Mrs. Louisa Kasper. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1964.

Survivors include 3 sons: Dick Kluis of Maurice, Arie Kluis of Slayton, Minnesota, Felix Kluis of Chandler, Minnesota, 2 daughters: Mrs. Dallas Grandia of Indian River, Michigan, and Mrs. William C. Hulstein of Hull; also 22 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
