Died: March 15, 1990 Sioux City, Iowa

Lee Oordt, 47, of Le Mars died Thurs. March 15, 1990 in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Monsignor Michael Sernett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mr. Oordt was born Sept. 30, 1942 at Orange City the son of Richard and Elizabeth (Dykstra) Oordt. He grew up in Orange City where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Maurice-Orange City High School in 1960. On Nov. 20, 1971 he married Marlis Dreckman in Struble. He owned and operated a Snap-On Tool franchise. He later worked with Le Mars Daily Sentimel and then was an advertising salesman for KLEM Radio. He was currently employed with the Le Mars Daily Sentinel.

Mr. Oordt was a past board member of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce and past member of the Le Mars Volunteer Fire Department. He was an active member of Ducks Unlimited, Sioux Rivers Chapter, and active in Pheasants Forever and Le Mars Sportsman's Club. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and was active in numerous community affairs.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Vince at home; a brother Stan of Maurice, IA. and nieces and nephews.
