Born: March 23, 1935, Sanborn, Iowa
Died: March 11, 1990 Sheldon, Iowa

Lee A. Blankers, 54, of Sheldon died Sunday, March 11, 1990 in a hospital in Sheldon after a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wed. in the First Reformed Church in Sheldon with Dr. Warren Hietbrink officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Blankers was born March 23, 1935 in Sanborn, IA. the son of Cornelius and Alice (Vander Haar) Blankers. He married Muriel Noteboom March 4, 1960, in Orange City. He was a farmer.

Mr. Blankers was a member of First Reformed Church where he served as elder and deacon for many years, was a Sunday school superintendent and taught adult Sunday school. He served on the board of Inspiration Hills. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Sheldon.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kari at home and Sherri of Minneapolis; a son, Bruce and his wife, Judi of Sheldon; his mother, Mrs. Alice Blankers of Sheldon; three brothers, Glenn of Boyden, Dwight of Sheldon and Harold of Sterling, VA; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Jason.
