Marie Kiel, 91, of Orange City, died Sunday in the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services were held on Wednesday, February 29 at 10:30 A.M. in the First Christian Reformed Church. Reverend Thomas C. Vanden Heuvel officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mrs. Kiel was born Feb. 26, 1893, at Orange City, the daughter of William and Hiltje Groot Huisman. She married John Kiel on February 12, 1914, at Orange City. They farmed near Maurice until 1952, when they retired and moved to Orange City. He died on November 4, 1970. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and Ladies Aid of Uw Koninkrijk Kome and Ladies Zangkoor.

Survivors include: six sons, Steve of Sheldon, William of Hartley, Howard of Maurice, Clarence of Orange City, Raymond of Anaheim, Calif., and Vernon of Sheldon; five daughters, Mrs. Dick (Hilda) Addink of Sioux Center, Mrs. Hermina Hulstein of Hull, Mrs. Arend (Kathryn) Wissink of Sioux Center, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Addink and Mrs. Orville (Evelyn) Kroeze, both of Orange City; 50 grandchildren, and 91 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jake
Huisman of Sioux Center and William Huisman of Orange City; three sisters, Mrs. Tim (Elizabeth) Rens, Miss Nell Huisman and Mrs. Neal (Ann) Jongerius, all of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and one infant daughter.
