Gilbert G. Keizer, 70, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Hull, died Tuesday, January 5, in a hospital in Sioux Falls.

Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday January 9, in Shalom Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Falls with the Reverend John Van Regenmorter officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Hull Cemetery under direction of the George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

Keizer was born December 10, 1917, in Orange City and grew up on a farm near Middleburg. He graduated from Newkirk High School in 1934 and worked on the family farm before entering the U. S. Army July 9,1941. He served in England, North Africa and Italy during World War II. On January 10, 1945, he married Helena Haveman in Hull. After his discharge October 5, 1945, the couple farmed the family place and he also studied electronics. In 1955, they moved to Hawarden where he operated a TV repair business. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1960 where he was employed by Midwest TV and Appliance and Brodie's TV and Appliance, retiring in 1980.

Keizer was a member of Shalom Christian Reformed Church, American Legion and Minnesota Travel Club. He was a volunteer at Sioux Valley Hospital and Union Gospel Mission.

Survivors include his wife, Helena; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Anna-Joyce) Nelson of Seattle, Washington; two sons, John of Sussex, New Jersaey, and Robb of Milford; his stepmother, Mrs. Ellen Keizer of Orange City and eight grandchildren.
